A little more about Bernadette:

Born into a sporting family, Bernie could have excelled in any field - swimming, surf life saving, or otherwise - but we’re grateful she chose water polo, and even more grateful she chose Delfina. Bernie has competed as a competitive swimmer and Surf Life Saving athlete, before truly making a name for herself within New Zealand Water Polo. Bernie has represented the silver fern for close to a decade, competed for three seasons with the University of Hawai‘i, and played professionally across Greece and Brazil. Along the way, she’s twice earned All-American honours, twice been named Big West Player of the Year, twice been NZ’s Player of the Year, and in 2025 was nominated as NCAA Woman of the Year.

Outside the pool, Bernie’s just as impressive. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s in Marketing Management, she combines thoughtful perspectives with creative flair (thanks to her Bachelor’s in Photo Media) - the perfect mix for guiding Delfina’s growing community of teams and athletes.

Bernie’s perfect business meeting location would be posting up at Mount Maunganui with a good coffee or matcha, and soaking up the sun ☀️
